Outreach and Engagement Internship- College of Engineering

What will I do in this role?

Outreach and Engagement Interns play an integral role cultivating and maintaining relationships the Center for Career Readiness has with internal and external partners. We are currently seeking an undergraduate student enrolled in the College of Engineering to help develop and execute strategies designed to increase engagement between these partners and engineering students.

 

In this project area, you will report directly to Theo Menounos (School of Engineering Career Coach) and will help create and deliver engineering-specific presentations, programs, and resources, as well as promote existing career programs through various forms of outreach to College of Engineering students, faculty, and staff. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to tracking and analyzing data, writing blog posts, conducting research, and scheduling presentations/employer events. Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Handshake is a plus for this position

    • Gaining direct access to employers and knowledge about career opportunities

 

How do I know if I’m qualified?

Eligible candidates should be able to exhibit the preferred skills as outlined in the description above as well as the required skills and qualifications below:

  • Be a current undergraduate student in good academic standing
  • Ability to commit to work the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters and be able to work during standard business hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. (Evening and/or weekend hours may be required upon occasion.)
  • Showcase excellent oral, written, and public speaking skills
  • Have an appreciation for working both independently and as part of a team
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills with ability to shift priorities as needed
  • Be enthusiastic and creative with the ability to generate new ideas
  • Have proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills toward a wide variety of guests and serve as a brand ambassador for the Center for Career Development
